Community Emergency Response Team

The information on this page is designed to allow the general public to understand what the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is and what is done to perform the actions of the team. The CERT course is designed to instruct participants in ways of preparing themselves for disaster and to sustain that for up to 72 hours.

Participants are not trained to be emergency responders and do not act as such. They receive training to assist themselves, family members, and neighbors until trained assistance can arrive.

Wanted: CERT Participants

Plans are underway to conduct another CERT class. If you are interested in becoming a part of CERT or attending the course, please contact the Region 15 Emergency Management Office.
